An early goal from AAFC Premier U23 forward, Jordan Berry, wasn't enough to hold of last years AAPDL champions. Martin Parker leveled the game at one apiece just before halftime and Yaacov Rubin scored the game winner in the 73rd minute to take all three points from the U23 squad and put his team alone at the top of the table. John Spisak, Marc Lawrence, and Jon Nicholas refereed.
The game was notched at two apiece 70 minutes in, but the U23 squad led by four goals from stiker Jordan Berry proved to be too much for the AAFC Elite squad. With not much depth on the bench it appeard as though the older team didn't have the legs to play a full 90 so early in the season. In addition to Berry's four goals Jad El-Zein scored a pair as well to help the AAFC Permier U23 team win 6-3. Tom Gritter scored a couple and Steve Tramontin scored the other for AAFC Elite.
The Meerkats came from behind twice to edge the AAFC Select U20 squad 3 goals to 2. Fairly early in the match Jordan Selva put the U20s on the board, but the older more experienced team were able to get a goal back before halftime with a goal by Yaacov Rubin in a very close offside decision where the AR left his flag down. The U20s regained the lead when Noble Sullivan tucked one away from close range.
