About

 The AAPDL was founded in 2008. We started with a men's amateur league created mostly out of frustration with our current playing situations. Most of the players in the inaugural league had played on Sunday teams on poor quality fields, with poor quality officiating, with little to no direction or coaching, and in many cases one or both of the teams would show up late and with not enough players.

We knew there had to be a better solution and much to our delight, there was! After a very successful first year playing on amazing fields, with great officiating, attending coached training sessions, and continuously having competitive full sided games, we decided to expand. In 2009 we added a women's division and this year we're adding youth divisions.

Although the AAPDL has only been around for a few years our soccer club, Ann Arbor Football Club, has been around since 1997. We started out as one adult coed indoor team playing our first game in January of 1998. Since then we've expanded into four outdoor men's teams, four outdoor women's teams, and countless indoor teams. Our teams have had a lot of success winning multiple outdoor state championships and representing Michigan at the regional level six times! We've also collected multiple regional indoor titles and one national indoor championship.

Although our adult teams strive to be as competitive as possible, our youth program is focused on player development and fun, rather than winning. We're very excited for our first youth leagues to start this summer and look forward to working with your children. Soccer is an amazing sport with a large passionate community found all over the world. We look forward to fostering an appreciation for the beautiful game.
